You want a quick answer to the question Can Blogging be Profitable? The answer is YES! Definitely, yes. Blogging has been a solution for many people for many years now, and honestly, it never stops growing!
For those who don’t really know what blogging is, let me explain it to you quickly. Blogging means owning a blog (website) where the owner writes about different subjects for his/her readers. It can be a hobby, a way to stay connected with friends, a way to make money, etc. Blogging is used in many ways and can definitely be profitable for the ones who want it to be.
This is the point I want to cover in this article: profitability. Yes, it is possible to think that some bloggers earn more than $10k a month! If they can do it, you can do it too. In the current post, I want to take a look with you in what ways blogging can be profitable and how you can make money out of it.
I will end this article with an opportunity for you to become an awesome blogger and maybe be the next one making $10k per month? Stay tuned ’til the end, it’s going to be fun!
As you might know, the web has become a tool where many businesses use it to share their products/services, connect with people and make more sales. On the internet, we also have all the people looking for answers to any question. Let’s take this, for example: How to Choose a Profitable Niche for a Blog (hum, coincidence?).
There are also all the people looking to BUY PRODUCTS online. Can you imagine how much money can be made in one day on the web? I don’t have a precise number, but I can say A LOT. If there is so much money to be made, why wouldn’t you take your part of the profit? Well, it’s possible with blogging!
Companies like Amazon keep growing every year because every year, more people are buying from them. Shipping is fast, products are affordable and (most of the time), the quality is acceptable. If Amazon makes a couple of billions every year, do you think you could take a part of the profit? Yes, you can! With the Amazon Associates Program, everything is possible, my friend!
Now, if so many people are buying online, why wouldn’t you suggest them products to buy? Then, you could make a commission on every sale that you make. This is where blogging becomes interesting; you share through a blog (website) products to your audience so that they buy from your links that will be on your website. In fact, this is the definition of an affiliate marketer.
More people buying online means more people are buying from you and your recommendations. Isn’t this fantastic? I think it is, indeed. So can blogging be profitable? Yes, yes and yes!
There are different ways you can use to make money while blogging. They can all be profitable in their own way, depending on how you use them. Let’s take a look.
Just so you know, I won’t be covering the part ”how to blog” here, so if you would like to know more about how you can start blogging, please take a look at this article 6 Steps to Turn Your Passion Into Money With a Simple Website.
Email Marketing is definitely one of the favourites of affiliate marketers, alias bloggers.
Maybe you’ve noticed that when you go on a website, they ask you to join their newsletter so that you stay up-to-date with their products or promotions. Well, that’s the concept of email marketing.
By collecting people’s emails, you now have a way to contact these “once” visitors so that they come back on your website. By coming back, maybe they will buy something, or perhaps they’ll just come to read your new article. Whatever the reason they come back, that’s good because it means they love your content, and it might be potential money that comes in.
Building an email list is not something complicated, but like anything else, you must learn how to do it. I’m myself still learning about it. You can find different online training for sure on email marketing, but definitely, one of the best places to master email marketing is on the platform of Wealthy Affiliate. Here is an example of training you can find: Email Marketing 2018 1st Step to List Building. Even if it’s of 2018, it’s definitely still relevant!
By keeping your email list up-to-date with promotions, new posts on your blog, opportunities, etc. people are more likely to come back on your website and take a look. The point is that you have something to keep in touch with your visitors, so you have the opportunity to sell them stuff!
Still, it is essential to not become real spam by sending emails all the time. There are strategies to do a good email marketing campaign and to make a profit out of it; it’s essential to use them.
There is a lot of money that can be made out of email marketing when you know how to use it wisely. Take advantage of it!
Another way to make money out of blogging is to create your own products. Maybe you think it is tough to create your own stuff, but believe me, once you get into this world, it becomes a lot easier!
The reason is that you learn so many things that it becomes easy to develop new techniques and share them through an eBook, for example. Then, this eBook can be used as a freebie for an email marketing campaign (an example of a strategy you can use to build a good email list).
This eBook can also be sold on Amazon (or any other places) to bring you a profit. What is cool about a product like this is that you create it once and then you sell it as many times as you want. What is even cooler is that there aren’t any physical copies of this eBook, it’s only digital, so less trouble to realize the eBook.
I’m talking about eBooks, but it can be a lot of different things, as long as it stays relevant to your niche. We can think of training recorded on videos. It could be a podcast. Be imaginative and do something for your visitors they would love to buy. Then, enjoy the profits!
This product you create can be promoted on your website so that your visitors know this product exists and that YOU created it. Having your own products can build trust with your audience, and they are more likely to buy from you. Why do I say that? Because talking for myself, when I go on a website, and I see that the owner made his own eBook, for example, I think, “Wow, he/she must be excellent to write his/her own book!” So, I can imagine some of your visitors will like it too!
Creating a product like this can be very long, I admit, but in the long run, it will bring you more, so think about it and consider this as another solution to add money to your income. 😉
Not ads, you will say! Yep. Did you know that some websites are profitable only with ads? Okay, maybe they have a lot of traffic per month, but hey, it only means it’s possible to make some money out of publicity.
It does have some disadvantages, though. Putting ads on your website will slow it down, and your visitors might not like this. Being on a low website is not cool. Be careful not to put too many ads so that it doesn’t become overwhelming for your visitors; otherwise, they will just leave.
There are different ways to put ads on your website.
First, you can go with a free way of doing so with Adsense from Google. It puts ads on your website, and every time a visitor clicks on your ads, you earn a commission. How come you can make money through publicity without paying? It’s because the advertising displayed on your website are already paid by the person who wants its publicity to be shown. So, for example, this person pays $1.00 for every click on its ad and Google takes, let’s say 40%, and the other 60% is yours.
The “negative” part of free advertising like this is that it is not 100% related to your visitors’ interests. Which means the % of visitors who will click might be very low. If you want a better conversion rate with publicity, you must pay to have more related ads displayed on your website. This way, your visitors are more likely to click on your ads. But remember, by clicking on your ads, they’re not clicking on your affiliate links to buy YOUR products!
This is why it’s necessary for bloggers to be careful with ads and to have a great balance. Too much won’t be reasonable, and not enough won’t be useful, so it’s better to have a couple to catch the visitors who would be leaving your website anyway.
I would also add that to put ads on your website, it might be more profitable with a large amount of traffic per month. For example, under 1k visitors per month, I wouldn’t bother putting ads. It will just slow down your website for nothing in return.
On the other side, if your monthly visitors are higher than 1k, then it might be interesting to add this to your wallet. Again, be wise and take advantage of what can bring you money!
These are only a couple of ideas of how you can make money out of blogging. In fact, there are many more to learn to grow your passive income! So, I bet you understand now that blogging is definitely something profitable, right?
What it’s cool is that blogging is not something complicated to learn. What is harder is to be disciplined enough to keep adding content on your website to gain more visitors.
The worst part, and where most of the bloggers quit, is at the beginning of their journey. Why? Because before seeing some results, it can take time, it depends on how much time you put on your website. So the people who succeeded with blogging didn’t quit when they didn’t have any results. They kept going because they knew it would work out. This is what happens when you have the right mindset.
So, are you ready to become a blogger? I’m sure you are. 😉 I know you will learn super fast and become one of the most fabulous bloggers on earth!
Take me as an example (I’m not the greatest, but I try my best ^.^), I started blogging I knew absolutely NOTHING about blogging. Like, I mean it, nothing. But I decided to give it a try because the ones who don’t try never know! And guess what? I love it. I’m learning how to make money with my blog every day, how cool is that?
I know starting a business does have some cost, but be reassured there is a solution.
I was able to find training, a web hosting platform, a teacher and many other bloggers to help me build this blog AT THE SAME PLACE. All these tools are on the same platform, so I don’t need to buy all these things separately at a high price. I found it so cool, I reallllllyyyyyyyy want to share it with you.
On a final note, I hope this post helped you see that there is a massive potential with blogging and that absolutely everyone can become a blogger. If you don’t try it, you’ll never know if you would like it!
